The good thing is that in and around Heiligenhafen, despite the Baltic Sea, you'll find a few places to surf. And if there's nothing going on here - which happens more often - you can always go to Weißenhäuser Strand: The chances are better here!

The official windsurfing beach is in the west near the DLRG (German Lifeguard Association) station. There you can let off steam to your heart's content! The beginners among you will also find good conditions for practising in the inland lake. Of course, you can also windsurf right in front of the board shack - and if that's not enough: Fehmarn is only 12 kilometres away!
